Purple Sea Urchin is a shallows depth fish in Dave the Diver.
While encountered early on, it's made quickly apparent one can't pick these up just yet. After progressing the main mission enough to get some special gloves, one can then pick up urchins without taking any damage.
It is one of the few ingredients which cannot be farmed, i.e. roe cannot be collected.

- Purple Sea Urchin is unique in that it is the only non-aberrant fish that will appear when diving during a foggy night. Which makes it the best bait for Crab Traps, when wanting to catch aberrant crabs without sacrificing any of the aberrant fish during such nights.
- As of the October 24 Content Update, the Green Sea Urchin is also harvestable on aberration dives. However, as that one is far more limited to just three per map, it's better to use the purple one for bait instead.
