John Watson is a character and a recurring antagonist in Dave the Diver.
Biography[]
John Watson is an alleged former Navy Seal and the leader of Sea Blue "The Guardians of the Sea", an organization focused on protecting the environment. However, this is only a front: in actuality the group is capturing and harvesting dolphins for their meat via a secret facility in the Blue Hole.
When the group picks up on explosions happening in the Blue Hole, Watson and other members confront Dave, believing he's "damaging the ocean", even over things Dave didn't do, such as when Dr. Bacon threw up into the ocean from having drunk too much the previous night.
Watson then makes it his mission to antagonize Dave at different intervals, with his attacks using more and more armor and weaponry after each fight. However, when Watson confronts Dave at the blocked door to the Control Room in the Hydrothermal Vents, Dave reveals he learned of Sea Blue's true actions against the environment. As Watson then tries to kill Dave from the safety of his submersible by firing a stream of missiles, the tide of battle turns when a Kronosaurus suddenly interrupts, wrecking Watson's submersible. It's presumed Watson was killed in the resulting crash.

First fight[]
John challenges Dave when entering the Blue Hole at the start of Chapter 2: Into the Deep's mission Going Deeper. Firing his Grenade Launcher at Dave and missing, John explodes a school of Blue Tang and Redtoothed Triggerfish instead. After failing to explain the logic of his murder attempt of a single diver, the fight begins.
Finally having had enough, John continues to threaten Dave before retreating by exploding a hole through the coral beneath them and swimming away.
Second fight[]
The second challenge by John Watson is in the end of Chapter 4: Abandoned Cave's mission Deliver Key to Tenzhin. John arrives by submersible, blocking the way out of the Access Road Dave uses to get down to the level where the Sea People Village is. Wearing the "Eco-friendly Sea Blue Armor RX-93", John once more attempts to murder Dave with explosives and ends up damaging the entrance to the Ancient Sea People Warehouse.
At the end of the fight the armor ends up broken, causing John to swim away literally in his underwear back to his submersible. Dave retrieves the Sea Blue Armor Debris to bring back to Cobra to make possible use out of.
