Godzilla In Crisis! is the second sub mission given as part of the Godzilla Content Pack for Dave the Diver.
Walkthrough[]
After wrapping up dinner service at Bancho Sushi, Miki will appear in the restaurant, noting she needs Dave's help to check on Godzilla as she's picked up that another large kaiju is heading to the area, likely to attack the weakened Godzilla.
In her sub, she'll explain a bit about the situation before asking Dave to take control of the sub, as her thalassophobia is starting to overwhelm her. As you navigate to Godzilla's hideout, the mysterious kaiju Miki was picking up on makes an appearance and she recognizes it as Ebirah, a large crustacean that got into fights with Godzilla in the past and lost each time. As you try to make your way to Godzilla to protect it, Ebirah will try to hinder you, with rocks falling from the ceiling, jabbing his claws through openings if you pass over them, and blocking pathways, with Miki giving you more and more access to the two weapons on the sub to help: the machine gun and a torpedo launcher.
Eventually, Ebirah will confront you directly while Miki will offer her services to try and repair the sub when possible. You'll need to use a mixture of dash tactics to shoot at Ebirah while avoiding its various attacks. Note that Ebirah will tend to try and protect its eyes (its most vulnerable part) but you can still do some damage against its claws. The torpedo can also be used here to cause more damage but it takes time for a new one to be ready.
After 2 stages, once hurt enough, Ebirah will run to the surface, no doubt to attack people there. You'll automatically be brought back to the surface in time to see it as he tries to go for Bancho Sushi, only for Godzilla to appear and confront him. After a short scene, you'll then be put in control of Godzilla to fight and defeat Ebirah.
This acts like a slower fighting game, where there are 3 basic attack moves and a defend stance, with each having a slight animation to note what both Godzilla and Ebirah are using. As such, once you learn them, you can figure out which ones counteract the one Ebirah is using (for instance, defend can block strike but won't work against dash). Note also that dash has a cooldown period and can be interrupted before Godzilla can actually fire off, effectively taking both damage from Ebirah and losing the ability for a small time while it cools down.
Once the fight is over, Ebirah will run off and Godzilla, now fully healed, will also leave the Blue Hole. Miki will be pleased and as thanks, gives the Godzilla (1995) Head boat skin before departing. The game will then progress to the next day where you'll officially receive the skin and this mission completes.
