Equipment is a key aspect in Dave the Diver that consists of a variety of accessories, which cannot be changed during the dive. However, equipped items can be changed in the Diver Box located on the boat (next to Cobra), and the weapons can be automatically changed when the player obtains a new weapon from a weapon box.

Harpoon Gun[]

The harpoon gun is the main weapon in the game. It has unlimited shots, and allows you to shoot and reel in fish to be taken to the sushi restaurant. The base level, doing 4 damage, can be upgraded via iDiver on your Smartphone to do more damage, and you can find harpoon tips from caches in the Blue Hole that will add various effects to the targets you hit.
Melee Weapon[]
The starting Melee Weapon is a Dive Knife that does 3 damage. Different Melee Weapons can be found from caches in the Blue Hole.

Salvage Drone[]

Dive Knife[]
"A survival knife always in Dave's possession. In addition to attacking, can also be used to collect materials."
The Dive Knife is Dave's default melee weapon. Upgrades for the knife become available in Chapter 6 Explore the Glacial Area after Dave infiltrates the Sea Blue base and delivers the tech suit part to Dr Bacon, who informs Dave the knife can be upgraded thanks to new material created in the lab. Along with increasing damage output, upgrades also allow the player to gather higher-grade materials without the need of searching for a pickaxe.

Crab Trap[]
"A trap that attracts and captures crustaceans hidden under rocks or in the ground. The number of traps that can be installed increases when upgraded."
The crab trap got added in with the October 11 Content Update and is the only way to capture specific lobsters and crabs. Note after the first one that's placed for the specific sub mission, A Nutritious Food for Sea People?, you'll need to collect bait while diving to use in the traps going forward, with higher-grade (higher rank) bait increasing the chances of catching a rare species with the trap. You'll also need to make sure to collect your catches before you end that dive session (the trap's icon will show a green check mark when it's caught something).

Bug Net[]
After completing Reticent Girl sub-mission, Maki will task the player to catch a Clione. Dave notes that catching such small fish with his harpoon gun would be impossible, leading to Maki suggesting he use a bug net, after which becomes unlocked to the player to use.
To use it, swim over the small fish and the icon for your use button will pop up to catch it.
Diving Gloves[]
After escorting Ramo to the entrance of the Sea People village, Dr. Bacon will offer Dave some Diving Gloves, developed by his lab to be used for retrieving artifacts.
These will allow Dave to pick up Purple Sea Urchin and to grasp rocks, anchors, stakes, and other large objects to manipulate them.
