Bluefin Tuna is a shallow and medium depth fish in Dave the Diver.
The tuna fish (and all its variants) doesn't become available until the Tuna Party is given via the Mail app (sometime after the Jellyfish Party). Cobra will then give the player access to the Salvage Drone, which is really helpful for transporting large fish, like tuna.
All tuna are large and extremely fast swimmers and are found in groups of about five. Note that they randomly spawn and you may not hear them until you're in sight of them.

Description[]
- A member of Scombridae, the bluefin tuna is the most common ingredient of tuna sashimi. It can swim up to a speed of 70-90 km/h and will suffocate if it stays in place.
Tactics[]
On top of being swift, they will do moderate damage to the player if hit by them as, while they won't actively try to hurt the player, they won't try to avoid the player either. The best way to catch them is to use the Steel Net Gun. A single net can catch more than 1 at a time thus it is possible to pull out more than 3 using the drone per dive. Best tactic to catch as many as possible is to position dave in front of their path and fire at the Tuna that is upfront and in the middle of the school so that the remaining Tuna that follow swim toward the net as it's closing, which will cause them to get caught as well. With practice and a bit of luck it is possible to catch 3 or more in a single net.
Other methods are the steel net traps Cobra will randomly sell in his shop, sensor bombs to try and do enough damage, or, with luck, use sleep-based weapons (like a tranquilizer rifle or the Sleepy Toy Hammer) to try and put one to sleep and quickly launch the drone to pick it up. If a drone isn't available, one can still harvest a dead tuna fish for two pieces of meat each.
If you don't care so much about the rank of the fish, you can also use weapons with chained effects, like the Lightning Rifle, which will help damage the other tuna and could result in killing with less bullets.
Notes[]
- In an undocumented change, you used to hear a loud plunging water sound when near tuna, indicating they had spawned on the map. However, this was drastically lowered to the point now it's barely noticeable until you're near them.
