Bancho Sushi serves as one of the primary locations in Dave the Diver.
Overview[]
The restaurant is financed by Cobra and run by chef Bancho, with Dave providing fish and helping in the dining area. As the game progresses, the sushi bar's rating is increased, driving in more customers and money. Eventually, one can also have a branch location as well.
Game Mechanics[]
There are several game mechanics in play during service.
Dash[]
- You can Dash when serving food.
- Use (Left Shift on PC) to move quickly.
- Don't forget to watch your stamina!
Dashing lets Dave move faster, though while carrying food the dashing speed is slower. So it might be better to only dash back to grab another plate from Bancho.
Wasabi[]
- You won't be able to produce food if you run out of Wasabi!
- Grind and refill the wasabi before it runs out!
Wasabi is located near Bancho and is automatically filled at the beginning of service, but depletes over the course of the evening as dishes are prepared. Once runs out, no more dishes can be made until it is replenished. Both Dave and a trained staff member can refill the wasabi. To refill wasabi manually, move to it and interact.
Dirty Dishes[]
Sometimes, customers leave behind a pile of dirty dishes. New customers will still sit at the bar, but if the table isn't cleaned by the time they are ready to order, then the customer will get up and leave.
Drinks[]
Customers can order drinks before or after their meal.
Green Tea[]
- Customers who drank green tea of a GOOD or higher grade will pay more.
Some customers will request green tea before ordering their meal. Their teacup should be filled as close to the marked line as possible, and a rating of "good" or better will create a green aura around the customer and they'll pay 30% more for their meal. Pouring too much or too little will result in a lower rating. You can either do the pouring or have a trained staff member handle these.
Beer[]
Once gifted a refrigerator, you'll now have customers who may order beer after their meal. You'll need to pour it so about 20% of the glass is foam. Note pouring too fast usually results in too much foam and gets a bad rating/no additional revenue. Getting a good or better rating will result in additional revenue. A train staff member can also handle these.
Cocktails[]
After completing Whose Fried food is the Best?, Vincent will gift the restaurant a cocktail dispenser. Cocktails will need to be color-filled in the right order for the ordering customer. You can handle these or have a trained staff member do them.
Today's Score[]
After an evening has been spent by either serving food or manually skipped, a score will be given from 1 to 5. This score will award Artisan's Flame, used for Researching new discovered recipes.
To gain max score, all customers have to be served with proper menu items.
Sales[]
Cooking value is the sum price of served dishes
Others value seems to be the sum price of served drinks
Tips value is the sum price of collected tips
Expenses[]
After getting 10 follows on Cooksta, expenses come into play.

Restaurant Options[]
Menu[]
- Customers will order dishes from the Menu.
- Don't forget to register dishes to the Menu before the sushi bar opens!
If there are no menu items available, the customers will order Norimaki only giving 1 gold. This will also lower the score of the night. The menu can be opened, pausing the game, and added to while the restaurant is open.
Research[]
Unlocked in the start of the Chapter 1 sub mission A Scolding from Yoshie. Allowing the Research the Whole-Roasted Shark Head to start out.
Every evening the restaurant could be open, Artisan's Flame points are given based on the scoring affected by the amount of customers served and making sure each are served a proper dish. Points given in a day range from 1-5, although if a mission skips time, any possible points are skipped as well.
These points are then used to research new and high grade recipes. New recipes may be discovered from leveling up sushi staff members to the every 5th level threshold, missions, seasonal party events and Cooksta rank ups.
Staff[]
Unlocked in the end of the Chapter 1 sub mission A Scolding from Yoshie.
For more in-depth information see the Sushi Staff and Sushi Staff Strategy articles.
The restaurant may hire two servers and two cooks depending on the current Cooksta ranking. Any other hires are in the waiting room and can be sent to gather condiments using the Dispatch option, causing the staff members to spend a day to gather a selected cooking ingredient Dave has previously found from from the cooking pots while diving.
When placing staff members to work it's important to see their stats and skills.
Stat/Skill | Effect |
---|---|
Cooking Stat | Increases the speed of preparing a dish. |
Serving Stat | Increases the speed of the server while moving in the restaurant. |
Procure Stat | Increases the amount of ingredients received while on a Dispatch. |
Appeal Stat | Increases the critical success of Dispatch, awarding additional ingredients. |
Hiring[]
Yoshie helps Dave as a recruiter, making ads to hire new workers to Bancho's restaurant. As an example Yoshie makes a Flyer Ad, pro bono to show how it's done and the next evening Kyoko applies and proper paid ads can be sent. Due to the tutorial nature, it is not possible to check Kyoka's details to see her fully trained potential.
- *Resumes can be read starting on the next day.
- *Your current resumes will be discarded.
After paying for an Ad, the next day Dave will receive Resumes from potential hires. If any applicants have not been hired from the previous ad, they probably will not be available for the next one unless there are no other staff members available.
The hiring costs of the staff are based on their starting stats but it's best to check their final statistics by selecting the Details options before hiring them. Some might be extremely average or be better for different jobs than their starting stats might look like.
Ingredients[]
Allows the in-depth inspection of all available ingredients, such as amount, item rank, weight, the source where the item can be gathered, description and the usable recipes that specific ingredient can be used for. If a specific recipe has not been discovered and researched, a blacked out icon with question marks will be shown over that possible recipe.
Ingredients can also be sold on their own, but they will not be worth as much as a dish that uses them.
Interior[]
The Interior decorations are unlocked on the afternoon of the next day after completing Repair Bancho Sushi.
Decorations vary from the type of the restaurant counters, chairs, ceilings, to speakers and lighting as well as specific location bound special decor.
Most decorations are bought for gold, though some are given free by default and from missions.
